About Stefan Ekman

Stefan Ekman has a PhD in English literature with a thesis on the function of environments in fantasy literature. He also has a MSc in economics with a focus on development and environment. He has worked at the Swedish National Data Service (SND) since 2013, as research coordinator in the humanities and since 2017 also as coordinator for education and training. In his current research, he analyses the role of social criticism in so-called urban fantasy, and explores a framework for how worlds of speculative fiction are constructed for critical analysis.
