About Ingela Lundgren

Ingela Lundgren is Professor in Midwifery Science and Consultant midwife at Sahlgrenska University hospital. She has a registration as nurse in 1978 and as midwife in 1986, and has mainly worked as a midwife in delivery wards. Ingela has been Deputy Head of Department University of Borås, 2005-2008. Further, she was Head of Department at Institute of Health and Care Sciences 2010-2018. She is participating in several national and international research collaborations.
 

Research
Ingela’s research is about childbirth focusing a historical perspective, normal birth, the influence in women´s lives, models of care, women´s experiences, and professional support.

Clinical activity
Ingela has clinical experience as midwife in maternity care. Her position as Professor in Midwifery Science is combined with position as midwife at Sahlgrenska University hospital.
