About Anders Hagberg

Anders Hagberg - flautist, saxophonist, composer, Professor of Musical Performance/Improvisation

Anders Hagberg performs worldwide as a soloist and his international collaborations include artists from India, Japan, South Korea, United States, West Africa and Brazil. With a substantial number of recordings to his name, he has been commissioned to compose music for several films and dance performances. Improvisation and boundary crossing collaborations are the hallmarks of Anders, and his projects often includes artists from various genres and cultures as well as other art forms such as dance and visual arts.

His artistic research is about improvisation and spatiality with a special focus on melodic modality, musical presence and the awareness of acoustics in musical performance. The projects have led to ongoing collaborations between musicians from Scandinavia, the Middle East, India and Korea as well as educational tools that can increase musicians' opportunities for presence and flow.
