About Helene Berglund

Helene Berglund is a Senior lecturer at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, The Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg. She is responsible for the Postgraduate Programme in Specialist Nursing – Primary Health Care.


Her research deals with quality in the continuum of care for older people. The research focus on different aspects, such as organizing integrated care, older people’s influence in care planning and older people’s views of quality of care and life satisfaction. Dr. Berglund participates in two research groups at the Institute: Care Environment and The Palliative Care Research Group. She is also involved in the interdisciplinary research group FRESH - Frail Elderly Support Research Group, which is a part of the Centre for Ageing and Health, AgeCap.


Dr. Berglund has presented her research on several conferences, such as International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (Barcelona 2014), Nordic Congress of Gerontology (Gothenburg 2014) and Nordic Conference on Implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (Bergen 2015).
 

In her earlier professional life, Dr. Berglund has a wide experience within health care. She has been working as a nurse and she also had several leading positions, such as head of a care unit and medical responsible nurse. She has worked in several different areas, such as medical intensive care, neurology, elderly care and home nursing care.
