About Åke Ingerman

Research interests
My research aims towards developing the understanding of a multi-disciplinary knowledge content – pedagogical aspects of sicence and technology. The research primarily takes its starting point in pedagogical situations where students meet scientific and technological knowledge. My research has mainly used a phenomenographic appraoch and can broadly be described by three themes:

• The first and overarching theme concerns how the object of learning in science and technology is constituted in learning and teaching practices.
• The second theme, which is conceptually oriented, concerns ways in which students experience and understand critical concepts of science and technology.
• The third theme, which is a political component, aims at creating a collegiality within the science and technology community in order to develop education research in relation to the disciplines of science and technology and to support scholarly professional development.

Teaching interests
My main teaching is within graduate education. I also teach in teacher education and some pedagogy for higher education teachers in science and technology. Additionally, I supervise Ph D students concerning mathematics, science and technology education.

Key words
