  • Health and social marginalization
  • Stigma and mental health
  • Life-course perspective on inequities in health
  • The link between welfare policies and inequities in health
  • Psychosocial work environment and stress-related health
  • Individualization, performance, and mental health in young adults


Ongoing research in selection

  • A series of epidemiological studies aiming to explore differences in self-rated health between women and men
  • Social inequities in barriers to care for people with depression- and anxiety disorders 
  • Masculinities, men and sexual health - qualitative studies focusing on health professionals
  • Common mental disorders in young men and future marginalization and mortality
  • Stigma and depression - citizens ' attitudes to sick leave for depression (in conjunction with LORE )
  • Trajectories of depression in young women 1990-2014 (PhD project).

Main teaching commitments

  • Course leader for the course Welfare, Economy, Work, and Health (15 credits) as a part of our international master's program in public health.
  • Course leader for Health inequalities... (15 credits) as part of our bachelor's program in public health.
  • Lecturer in the introductory course, i.e. Gender and health, and the Community medicine course, i.e. Social differences in health, as part of the medical program.
