GCGD Public Seminar: (De)Globalization and Development in the New Age of Populisms

Research profile seminar

Please join us for an interdisciplinary discussion about the timely and pressing topic of current 'anti-globalization', and 'post-globalization' trends in the context of populism, and their impact on development!

The evening features talks by two internationally highly acclaimed experts:

Professor Dibyesh Anand from the University of Westminster, who will be speaking on 'In the Name of the People: Is China an Exception to the Global Wave of Populism?'

Dr Erica Resende from Escola Superior de Guerra, Brazil, who will be speaking on 'Right and Left-wing Populisms: Two stories about Reclaiming Sovereignty from Globalization'.

The speakers will be followed by a panel discussion amongst a range of international experts on the topic, as well as an open forum discussion.

Please note that there is no pre-registration for the event; seats will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
