Project description

We are looking for a highly motivated project assistant to test sea lice traps both in the lab and in the field near Norwegian salmon farms. Most of the work will be done in Gothenburg, but you will also travel to the Stavanger-Bergen area for fieldwork on several occasion, we expect the project to take 4-5 months. We have a sea lice trap prototype, and a new bait that is efficient in laboratory studies with sea lice. The project aims to combine the trap and the bait in a real world situation to test to what extent it can actually be used to trap sea lice. Experience with motion analysis, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, scientific writing, plankton ecology, social skills, and programming is meriting. Previous work with chemical ecology of marine crustaceans or similar is a particularly strong merit. In addition, you must have experience from field work in cold water areas. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, solution oriented, autonomous, and have a solid interest in natural sciences. You should have a relevant exam in biology, chemistry, physics, or equivalent.

Assignments
