OPEN POSITIONS Researcher (1-2)

Our primary research focus at department of molecular and clinical medicine is on metabolism, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. We support and promote research and teaching in translational medicine to improve health and to benefit society.

Job assignments
The holder of this position is expected to perform: a) human genetic studies to find associations of gene variants with fatty liver disease, b) in vitro studies on cells to understand the mechanism underlying genetic association with disease involving lipids and lipoproteins, c) protein purification to understand enzymatic activity of proteins. The holder will continue ongoing project in Stefano Romeo’s group at Wallenberg laboratory.

Qualifications
Phd in Biotechnology is a mandatory requirement. Documented experience assessed by scientific publication track record: in vitro studies,protein purification and human genetic association studies in the field of fatty liver disease are very important. The candidate must be able to use statistical software for the analyses of large datasets (SPSS, R etc) and have knowledge of the basics of statistic for analyses of qualitative and quantitative traits. DNA, RNA, protein analyses, cloning are also required. Teamwork capacity is very important for this job. Personal suitability will be of important consideration.

Employment
The employment is temporary, 24 months, extent 100%. Location: Institute of Medicine. Start according to agreement.
