OPEN POSITIONS Assistant researcher

Gothenburg Research Institute (GRI) is an interdisciplinary research institute at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg. Here researchers work in programme format on projects that are highly relevant to current business developments and contemporary society. GRI conducts research in close collaboration with Chalmers Institute of Technology and School of Public Administration at the University of Gothenburg. GRI is looking for a research fellow in strategy and design management.

Job assignments

The tasks include research work of starting up projects in the field of digitalisation and industry 4.0 emphasising dimensions of strategy and design management. The major part of the work is to establish collaborations, and to prepare and submit research proposals which will contribute to establishing studies within the field of digitalisation and industry 4.0. It will also include some teaching within this area. Work will be conducted both independent and with colleagues related to the Managing Transformations program.

Qualifications

The applicant shall have a PhD in management. Published work within the field of strategy and design management is a prerequisite. Research potential will be the main criteria in evaluating applicants, i.e. especially research regarding strategy and design management in the field of digitalisation and industry 4.0. A completed PhD in management and published work in the field of strategy and design management is a prerequisite. Analyzing qualitative material and writing skills are strong merits. The candidate is expected to teach in English. Knowledge in the Swedish language is a strong merit, but not required.

The applicant shall be selected after an overall assessment of skills and development potential, and who is considered to have the best potential for carrying out the duties included in the employment.

The position require very good collaborative ability, high independence, and high analytical ability. As writing is a core of the work, very good ability to express research in English is a requirement. Furthermore, accuracy, good planning and organizational skills are required.

Employment

This is a fixed-term employment of 6 months at the extent of 50 % starting January 1, 2018 or as soon as convenient. Location: Gothenburg Research Institute
