OPEN POSITIONS Researcher

The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and individual courses in the main topics; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography, and health care pedagogics, and postgraduate PhD-program in Health Care Sciences. The Institute has seven research groups and the research profile is person-centred care. Two research center are situated at the Institute, University of Gothenburg Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC), and Center for Culture and Health.

The position is placed at The Gothenburg University Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC), Institute of Health and Care Sciences, University of Gothenburg. GPCC is an interdisciplinary research centre, established in January 2010, with the support of the Swedish government's strategic investment in health and care research. More than 100 national and international researchers from different scientific disciplines come together to work on approximately 40 ongoing studies on person-centered care in the context of chronic illness, unexplained symptoms and organization of care at GPCC.  Uniquely GPCC has evaluated the effects of person-centered care in controlled studies. This has established that person-centered care is capable of enhancing the efficiency of the care process. Apart from considerable monetary savings resulting from amongst other things shorter hospital stays, significant positive effects from a patient perspective has been seen, as care is adapted to each individual person and his or her resources are made use of GPCC:s vision is ssustainable health through sustainable care: To prevent and reduce suffering and strengthen the efficiency of institutional care through person-centered care.

Job assignments

The Institute of Health and Care Sciences is seeking to appoint a researcher. The tasks will include analysis and interpretation of data using classical and modern psychometric methods. You will be working with patient-reported outcome measures from clinical and epidemiological data.

The appointment also includes supervising PhD students.

Qualifications

A PhD in Psychology. An advantage is also if you have a docent qualification in psychology. Solid knowledge of classical and modern psychometric methods is a requirement. Long-term experience of using patient-reported outcome measures in clinical and epidemiological applications is beneficial. The position assumes a good understanding of statistics and a good command of English in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as your willingness to collaborate, and at the same time being able to complete duties independently.

Employment

The position is a fixed-term contract for one year. The extent is 20% of a fulltime position and the researcher will be placed at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences. The position should be filled as soon as possible.
