OPEN POSITIONS Associate Researcher

Department of Orthopaedics conducts extensive experimental and clinical research in many aspects of the musculoskeletal system. Detailed description of research activities can be found on http://orthopaedics.gu.se/

The research group conducts research on performance-enhancing surgery and rehabilitation of the hand control after cervical spinal cord injury. The research includes several categories designed to restore maximum autonomy for the paralyzed individual.  Both surgical-technical innovations and development of advanced rehabilitation strategies are key components in our research group.

Job assignments

The work is focused on development, testing and implementation of functional electrical stimulation in the highly specialized field of "Surgical reconstruction of hand function after cervical spinal cord injuries".


The successful candidate is expected to hold a Master of Science in Neurorehabilitation and research and documented knowledge about functional electrical stimulation. Experience in research, technology development, and spinal cord injury care are expected. Other desired qualifications and abilities of the applicant are independence, carefulness, organizational skills, and good ability to collaborate. We also attach great importance to the applicant's personal suitability.


The employment is limited (temporary) until 2018-06-30, full time and is placed at The Institute of Clinical Sciences. Starting date; as soon as possible or as agreed.
