Online Linguistic Support

Online Linguistic Support (OLS) offers language services to you who are a refugee or an asylum applicant.

OLS is an online, free of charge service for language studies and tests. Learning is supported through a number of modules, forums, tutoring sessions and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).

All you need to use OLS, is a computer or tablet/smartphone and an internet connection.

The objective of this initiative is to support the efforts of EU Member States to integrate refugees into Europe's education and training systems. During a three-years period 100 000 licenses are made available to individuals included in EU definition of refugees. The University of Gothenburg have access to 400 licenses and Chalmers University of Technology have access to 200 licenses.

With a licens to OLS it is possible for you to study one of the following languages: Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, French, Croatian, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Finnish or Swedish.

In order to access an OLS-licens, send your e-mail address to ols@gu.se for registration.

When your email address has been registered, you will receive an email containing your log in and password. You can then log on to Erasmus + OLS and take the first assessment (test) to check your current language level. You have three months to start the test. If your result shows that your language level is A1, A2 or B1, then you will automatically receive an invitation to the online OLS language course. If your result is B2, C1 or C2, then you can send an email to ols@gu.se and we will send you an invitation so you can start the language course. You have a month to start the course after you have received the invitation.
