About
The aim of this interdisciplinary course is to introduce you to:
- First, to some crucial philosophical discussions that spanned over the 11th to 14th centuries, such as those on the ontological status of universals; the abstraction and intellection of universals; the body/soul relation; and the supreme good.
- Second, to the material aspects of the transmission of ancient philosophical texts via the Middle Ages to our time, and to the various methodologies – paleography, codicology and textual criticism – that allow us to reconstruct the ancient and medieval originals so that we can access their content in a reliable way.

Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %).
For admission to the summer 2021 and onward the following selection applies: selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %).
