About

The course deals with literary and linguistic perspectives on speculative fiction (a catch-all term for a number of genres that all have as a central feature some departure from the world as we perceive it, including, among other things, science fiction, fantasy, apocalyptic fiction, gothic fiction, horror literature. The course covers a wide range of topics, such as, for example, genre studies, speculative fiction as a literary dialogue, literature as social criticism, etc.
