Conservation

  • Combines academic studies with research assignments which enables you to link theory with practice, and build your capacity for both professional and research careers.
  • Is designed to deepen your knowledge about the characteristics and multiple layers of meaning that constitute cultural heritage, and condition its influence and doing in societies.
  • Helps you develop new skills in the documentation, assessment, interpretation, and conservation of cultural heritage.

Conservation of Cultural Heritage Objects

  • Combines science, practical conservation, and research and is taught by experienced conservators, conservation scientists, and international guest lecturers.
  • The specialization—following ENCoRE requirements—has a different material focus each year. In 2022, the focus will be modern materials.
  • Makes you develop methodological and technical skills while incorporating critical thinking in conservation, reflecting on how your decisions influence context and treatment.
  • Small classes allowing close contact with researchers.
