About

The course's system is to provide in-depth knowledge of geographical information systems (GIS), to provide in-depth training in the practical management of geographical information systems, and to provide in-depth knowledge of principles for information on and applications with GIS. The course is given full time and the focus is on urban environments. A major part of the course is devoted to practical, foremost geoscientific exercises with GIS programs. The teaching contacts lectures, group teaching, laboratory work, project work and study visits. This course is mandatory master's  students in Geography. Elective and exchange students welcome to apply, placement dependent upon availability.

Prerequisites and selection

Requirements

Completed courses geographic information systems I (NGN180) and GIS II (NGN190) or Geographic information systems (NGN170 or GVS150) or KGG120. Students with equivalent education can after assessment be given admission to the course.

Selection

Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
