Digital Infrastructure

Master’s level
15 credits (ECTS)

Digitalization is a signature of our time. It offers almost unlimited
opportunities for firms, public authorities and citizens. Digital
leadership relies on capability to navigate the competing concerns of
digitalization, but also to actively orchestrate digital innovation
processes. This course on Digital infrastructures will develop the
student's understanding of how digitalization is built upon layers of
sociotechnical infrastructure that simultaneously enable and restrict
possibilities for digital innovation, leading to both expected and
unexpected consequences.  The course has a strong theoretical foundation
anchored in several domains, including but not limited to information
systems, anthropology and design, combined with a distinct design
perspective based on design thinking and participatory design. This
focus ensures that students develop skills in analysing and developing
future digital infrastructures for digital innovation.
