Summary

The course will provide you a thorough view of ear, nose and throat diseases and head and neck surgery.

About

After an introductory week with lectures and practical training in basic surgery, the clinical rotation weeks will take place. Students will be divided into small groups and rotate through different parts of the departmental activities operation; in the outpatient clinics, operating theaters and inpatient units. In addition to practical skills the focus will be on understanding what happens with the patients after their evaluation in the primary care setting.

Prerequisites and selection

Requirements

University Medical Degree or university studies of a minimum of 180 credits at the Programme in Medicine. Passed courses in Internal Medicine I, 27 credits, Internal Medicine II, 10.5 hp, Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases, 6 credits and Neurology, 10.5 credits and fulfilled the following course in Surgery, 28.5 credits or equivalent. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 5/English A or equivalent.

Selection

Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

For admission to the summer 2021 and onward the following selection applies: selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
