FH1180 Violent extremism: radicalisation and public sector responses, 7,5 hp

The course, commissioned by the Swedish Police Authority, aims to contribute to increased knowledge about radicalisation processes and society's ability and tools to deal with them.

The course addresses questions about how, where and why individuals become radicalised, how radicalisation processes differ between different settings and discusses critical perspectives on research on radicalisation. The course also examines society's capabilities and responses to radicalised individuals and groups, with a particular focus on risk assessment and interaction, and discusses how these are designed in an effective and lawful manner. The course offers learning that can be applied to both the planning and implementation of concrete interventions by the police and other public organisations.

Questions about the course should be addressed to Robin Andersson Malmros, robin.andersson@gu.se
