The University of Gothenburg is following the Swedish Government's and Public Health Authority's recommendations regarding measures to reduce the spread of infections. For students, this mean that a large part of the studies is conducted digitally. As a general rule, international students will be offered a mix of on campus and digital studies.
How education will be conducted in spring 2021
The University will conduct most of the activities digitally and remotely, but that some students will also have classes on campus. Activities and operations, and students being prioritized for on-campus education are:
- introductory course components for students starting their education
- students who complete their final year of study
- international students who reside in Sweden
- examinations that are not possible to carry out remotely
- teaching components with aesthetic, practical and laboratory elements, field studies and placement.
This means, as a student at the Faculty of Science you need to be on campus in Gothenburg for parts of a course that requires physical presence, for example laboratory work and exercises.
Parts of courses that do not require physical presence will in general be conducted remotely in order to reduce the risk of infection spreading.
All education will be conducted taking into consideration the authorities’ advice for social distancing.
