Short description

The European workforces are aging, and a critical task for policymakers in the last few decades has been to increase older workers' labor-market participation via monetary incentives, raising the retirement age, and blocking early exit routes. In these efforts to prolong working life employers' engagement are recognized as important to bridge the gap between state legislation and social security systems, organization willingness and readiness, and older workers' motivation and ability to continue working. The thesis focuses on the employee-employer relationship and engages in research topics such as age-management and HRM policies for older workers, individuals' health conditions, and motivation as well as individual work arrangements and work accommodations.
