Short description

(a project within the national research program Anlagd Brand)

The purpose of the project is to demonstrate how and why children / young people set fire and based on these results how to best prevent and prevent future fire installations. A crucial issue is whether the child / adolescent fire facility seen as individual, social and situational factors is a peculiar problem or a parallel phenomenon to other related child / adolescent problems. The project also has two sub-purposes: to investigate whether different representations of the applied fire lead to a social spread syndrome and to evaluate preventive work done / performed by the Rescue Service in Greater Gothenburg.
In three consecutive studies, material on fire incidence in the Gothenburg area is collected and analyzed, data on juvenile delinquency experiences, crime load, etc.
