Short description

A Sequential Study of Uncertain Work Strategies

This project illuminates approaches to artistic professional fields and the aim is to examine career paths in relation to family life, and to study how actors combine family life and artistic careers. What main problems and possibilities do men and women perceive? How can this be connected with gender, ethnicity, generation and social class? The study’s empirical material will be built upon sequential, follow-up interviews with a group of young women who have been interviewed earlier between 1999 and 2004. This qualitative method will be combined with quantitative analysis of a questionnaire sent to Swedish artists and craftsmen.
