Published

The University of Gothenburg is searching for a Vice-Chancellor who is an internationally recognised professor. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in conducting, leading and developing higher education and research of the highest international quality. Employment will begin on 1 July 2023, and interested parties can apply for the position until 23 September. Candidates can also be nominated.

The University of Gothenburg has 56,000 students and 6,600 employees, making it a large and inspiring place to work. With the vision "A University for the World" as a starting point, the University seeks a vice-chancellor to lead efforts to further develop and strengthen internationally outstanding education and research, strengthen the relevance of the University as a participant in society and partner, and develop the University as a closely integrated organisation and an attractive workplace and study environment.

In addition to the more comprehensive work to implement the vision, strategic recruitment and other issues related to access to expertise have a high priority. The Vice-Chancellor is also expected to contribute to work on sustainable development, digitalisation, and strategic provision of premises and to promote greater collaboration with society and the private sector.

In recruiting the Vice-Chancellor, the University is working with the Michaël Berglund AB company. The company’s consultants are actively searching for suitable candidates for the position.

Students and employees can also nominate candidates. To do so, please contact recruitment consultant Ewa Olszewski by phone (+46 (0)73—368 8477) or by e-mail: ewa.olszewski@michaelberglund.se. The deadline for submitting nominations is 23 September 2022.
