Tommy Isidorsson has passed away
Tommy Isidorsson, Associate professor and Senior lecturer in Work Science, has passed away after a period of illness. Our thoughts goes to his family and loved ones.
Tommy Isidorsson taught and did researched about, among other things, the changes we have seen in the Swedish labor market in recent decades. In particular, he studied new ways of organizing work.
A leitmotif in the research he conducted was flexibility and stability. This has included reviews of various flexibility strategies such as working time flexibility, numerical flexibility and functional flexibility and its significance for the labor market, work organization and the individual. He mainly taught about work organization, labor market and method and supervised and examined many essays.
- Tommy was a person who always was very involved in his research and teaching and was a very esteemed friend, colleague and teacher. This is a great loss and my thoughts go to his sons and partner as well as to all colleagues who have known and worked with Tommy for many years, says Anna Peixoto, Head of the Department of Sociology and Work Science.

Tommy Isidorsson was an Associate professor and Senior lecturer in Work Science, Department of Sociology and Work Science at the University of Gothenburg. He defended his dissertation in Work Science in 2001 at the University of Gothenburg with a dissertation on the development of working hours in Sweden under 100 years. In 2012, he was appointed Associate professor.
