The university supports the Horizon Europe statement

Published

14 networks of universities have made a joint statement regarding the proposal for Horizon Europe - EU’s ninth framework programme for research and innovation. The University of Gothenburg is a member of the Aurora network, one of the networks behind the declaration.

The statement underlines the importance of an increased budget for the framework programme including extra funding for those programmes that have been successful such as Marie Sklodowska Curie samt European Research Council.

Göran Landberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, responsible for issues regarding research, announces that the University of Gothenburg supports the joint statement and emphasises the importance of further strengthening fundamental research. Furthermore, strengthening the links between research, education and innovation is essential, but it is equally important that this will not decrease the research budget in total.
