The suspicious object found on the upper part of Viktoriagatan on Wednesday morning was harmless. According to the National Bomb Squad, it was probably a battery of some kind. The School of Business, Economics and Law’s operations in the premises on Viktoriagatan 13 were behind the barriers.

It was at half past eight in the morning that a suspicious dangerous object in the form of a box was found. The police blocked off large parts of Viktoriagatan, including the house on Viktoriagatan 13 where the Department of Economy and Society, as well as teaching rooms, are located.

The National Bomb Squad was notified and at 9.45 am the object was shot to pieces by a bomb robot. A while later, the barriers were lifted and activities could return to normal, according to security officers at the University of Gothenburg.
