Paper Conservator Antonio Mirabile held a workshop in Gothenburg

Published

On September 10-11, a workshop for paper conservators from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark was hosted at the Gothenburg Museum of Art. The topic of the workshop was Removal of Pressure Sensitive Tapes using innovative methods developed during the NANORESTART project, and it was instructed by Paper Conservator Antonio Mirabile.

The two-day training course consisted of theoretical lectures as well as practical demonstrations, all regarding the difficulties that paper conservators face with removing pressure sensitive tapes. Participants had the chance of trying out different methods demonstrated by Antonio. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the workshop was held on site and digitally, where participants could follow both the lectures and practical sessions through Zoom.

The workshop was arranged by the Gothenburg Museum of Art and the Department of Conservation (University of Gothenburg), and it was funded by Märta, Gunnar, and Arvid Bothén foundation from NKF-S.
