The nine students who on Friday were told they had to leave Russia are no longer in the country.

“All nine have now left Russia. Seven have landed in Sweden, and two have traveled to Helsinki at their own request” says Jörgen Svensson, Security manager at the University of Gothenburg.

It was on Friday that Russian authorities notified the nine GU-students, as well as nine Norwegian students, that their visas had been issued on incorrect grounds. They were told they had three days to leave the country.
