Christian Munthe joins the scientific advisory board of The Lifeboat Foundation

Christian Munthe, professor of practical philosophy at our department,

has been invited to join the scientific advisory board of The Lifeboat Foundation as an expert on ethics.

Other ethics-oriented members of the board include peter Singer (Princeton), Arthur Caplan (University of Pennsylvania) and J.J.C. Smart (Australian National University). The Lifeboat Foundation is a nonprofit nongovernmental organization dedicated to encouraging scientific advancements while helping humanity survive existential risks and possible misuse of increasingly powerful technologies, including genetic engineering, nanotechnology, and robotics/AI.
