Kristineberg Center for Marine Research and Innovation

Together, University of Gothenburg, Chalmers, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, RISE and Municipality of Lysekil are running the research and innovation plattform Kristineberg Center.

Research and innovation for sustainable blue growth

Kristineberg Center for Marine Research and Innovation is physically located at Kristineberg Marine Research Station, run by the University of Gothenburg. With the new partnership, Kristineberg Center, the station opens for new actors and will offer advanced marine infrastructure, testbeds and settings for demonstrations.

As a meeting place, Kristineberg Center can:

  • Initiate, carry on and coordinate research and innovation projects
  • Support entrepreneurship and enterprises
  • Be a meeting place for activities for cooperation and development of competence
  • Offer test beds and advanced marine infrastructure

With close connection to The Maritime Cluster of West Sweden, the Centre will strengthen the possibilities to implement the national maritime strategy and to reach SDG 14 about Life below water.
