Finally time for the Spring Ceremony!

The IT Faculty Spring Ceremony - finally it could take place in the University Assembly Hall!

Yes, I was there - wasn't that wonderful?, Johanna Strömblad sang, from Laleh's "En stund på jorden" - "A time on earth". And it was actually wonderful to be there again in the University Assembly Hall, among all dressed-up and expectant students. We who have been waiting so long to experience a real graduation ceremony.

And everyone was there: graduating students, parents, friends, programme managers, the Dean of the IT Faculty, the winners of the IT Faculty Pedagogical Prize, Head of the IT Section of Göta Student Union, student ambassadors, and staff.... A mix of anticipation and melancholy in the air, just as it should be. "Den blomstertid nu kommer". The end of an era for graduating students, a new era begins.

A very talkative Ben Clarke was today's Master of Ceremony. The ceremony contained many fanfares, lovely music, the speeches were very much about never stop being curious, look ahead and not hesitate, but also always be welcome back to the academy. Many orators wanted to praise the students for managing to complete their studies despite two years of pandemic. A compliment also to all teachers, who in a short period of time managed to switch to remote education.

Three pedagogical prizes were to be handed out this year, for 2020, 2021 and 2022. The student ambassadors got a diploma, and then it was finally time for all students to get up on stage - one programme at the time - to get their roses, their folders, and to listen to the speech for their specific programme.
