One happy marriage of foodiness and computer-mediated communication (CMC) instantiates in vegan food blogs. They allow the blogger and their users to construct and celebrate a certain food-based lifestyle and form a world-wide community.

Her presentation will be two-fold: She will first analyse structural and lexical features of vegan food blogs as opposed to classical written recipes with a view to the communional CMC construction of vegan lifestyle in the general framework of discourse analysis (Gerhardt 2020b). In a second part, she will discuss the uses of extreme case formulation in the context of exgredients (no-X constructions such as gluten-free), as employed in the comments sections (Gerhardt 2020a).
