After finishing her PhD in Economics in Uppsala 1999, Eva has been working as a researcher at the Institute for Labour Market Policy Evaluation (IFAU) for many years. In 2011  started a new position as a Professor in Public Economics at the Department of Economics in Uppsala.

Since 2011, she is an adjunct member of the Prize Committee for the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic sciences.
