This seminar is part of Critical Dialogue Series, where Elliot will be presenting as part of their preparation for Mock Viva, scheduled for Spring 2021. In a dialogue with a discussant, Elliot will give us a comprehensive overview of their thesis that uses critical theory and narrative analysis to examine imaginaries of future environmental justice in different cultural forms—from neoclassical economics to climate fiction, posthumanist academic writing, and Indigenous songwriting. The seminar will focus on readings of six texts and on questions concerning literary and cultural theory and method in the environmental humanities and political ecology.
