Act Sustainable 2020

Sustainability and environment

This year's edition of Chalmers University of Technology's and the University of Gothenburg's joint sustainability week Act Sustainable is digital and selected parts of the program are open to the public, including the lecture with this year's keynote speaker Emma Frans.

Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development

Between November 16-20 the annual sustainability week will take place right here - on the internet! Due to the current situation this year's edition will be 100% digital.

We are thrilled to present an exciting program with a wide range of topics and academic fields. The week is open for all students, teachers, researchers and staff at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. A selection of the events will  be live streamed to the general public, including the lecture with this year’s keynote speaker Emma Frans.

Emma Frans has an academic background as a Doctor of Medical Epidemiology and a researcher at Karolinska Institutet and the University of Oxford. But for many, she is probably best known as a science journalist, author, debater and twitterer.

At Act Sustainable 2020, Emma Frans will share her knowledge on one of her special areas: filter bubbles and fake news. We will learn how to identify filter bubbles and fake news, and above all how to evaluate the information around us and how it affects society.
