Assessment of Knowledge in Educational Systems – A national doctoral school for teacher educators

In 2020, the doctoral school Assessment of Knowledge in Educational Systems (acronym ASSESS) started. This is a collaboration between Gothenburg, Uppsala and Stockholm universities around a doctoral school for teacher educators and future teacher educators.

ASSESS' purpose is to strengthen research competence and educational science research in the assessment area within teacher education. Assessment is a broad field and includes knowledge of different subject knowledge as well as how to observe, assess and measure them. In the assessment area, knowledge measurements are a central part that deals with assessment and evaluation of knowledge and skills. The doctoral school focuses on developing quantitative research competence for critical review and in-depth analyzes of national and international knowledge measurements. One goal is to make better use of existing assessments of knowledge and evaluations for important educational science issues.
