Rininta Firdaus
About Rininta Firdaus
Rininta Firdaus obtained her PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and MSc in Molecular Medicine from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway. Her PhD thesis investigated the molecular pathogenesis of Neisseria meningitidis, and the interaction between the bacteria and host endothelial cells. Currently, she is doing her postdoc at the Department of Biomaterials from University of Gothenburg to evaluate new tools for the diagnosis and treatment of biomaterials-associated infections. She is also investigating the role of extracellular vesicles in the pathogenesis of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococus epidermidis.
Research interests: molecular pathogenesis, biomaterials associated infections, biofilms (mechanisms and quorum sensing), antibiotic resistance.
