About Markus Miessen
Regarding prospective PhD students, I am looking forward to receiving proposals concerning projects, which nestle around the following research interests of mine:
–– critical spatial practice; –– alternative forms of social/political/spatial participation; –– cultures of assembly; –– spatial politics; –– institution building.
Interested in the deployment of critical spatial practice as a methodology, my research focuses on projects that include spatial design, strategic frameworks, and curatorial/discursive approaches.
Key writings: “The Nightmare of Participation” and “Crossbenching” (both Sternberg Press).
