About Kristina Håkansson

KRISTINA HÅKANSSON completed her thesis Förändringsstrategier i arbetslivet (Change strategies in working life) at the Department of Sociology, University of Gothenburg in 1995. She still has an interest in the capacity of workplaces to deal with changes, although her research focus has now moved towards different forms of flexibility. She became an associate professor in 2007 and professor 2014.

Teaching and tutoring Kristina teaches mainly within the fields of labour market, work organisation and leadership.

Current research projects She is engaged in a project that deals with the use of temporary agency workers and the commitment of those agency workers. Agency workers differ from all other types of temporary staff in that they are employed by the recruitment agency but perform work for and are under the management of the firm that is using them. The project focuses on how agency workers in three countries perceive their working conditions and their commitment to the recruitment agency and the firm that is using them. Researchers from Sweden, Holland and the UK are participating in the project.
