About Baharan Kazemi
Background I got my degree in social work from Malmö University and started working with unaccompanied minors in Malmö municipality 2007. Between 2008 and 2014 I worked in five different municipalities as a case worker in child welfare investigations and with unaccompanied minors.
Research My dissertation project focuses on the construction of the group unaccompanied minors through compulsory care according to The Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). Social workers’ rationale and argumentation, legal documents as well as unaccompanied minors’ experiences of these descriptions, will be examined from different perspectives, such as institutionalized expectations, migration policies, transnational theories and the childrens’ judicial status in the child welfare system.
