About Ann Parinder
Ann Parinder, doctoral student at the Department since 2005.
Ann’s project is associated with the transdisciplinary research school "Climate and Mobility", the Gothenburg Environmental Scientific Centre. The objective of the research task has a Home economic perspective with an intention to study young people´s choices of food considering environmental and climate influences. The research will gain novel knowledge on how young people that recently have established their own household argue and express this new responsibility and their view on the choices of food. In the analysis of the results, potential influences on the environment and the climate are particularly emphasized. In addition, the research task provides information on how new experiences and routines are formed in a situation where habits from the adolescence become interrupted or manifest and where interactions with other people in their surroundings and within the family take place under altered conditions. More specifically the research task include: How do young people discuss choices of food and how do they describe previous experiences and future visions related to food? What types of choices of food do they present to others and what formats do these presentations have? How do they argue for their choices of food in relation the environment and the climate?
The title of the thesis is “Young adults choices of food - Experiences, visions and environmental arguments in a newly formed household”
