Research interests My research interest is directed towards children in their early years. My current dissertation work targets six-year-olds in preschool classes and their assembly. The dissertation area involves what children perceive as difficult, how children’s difficulties are expressed, what strategies they use, and how they act in them. At the same time attention is given to what strategies are successful. The research interest has to do with special education, focusing on a special education approach in which the child’s perspective is central. Of further interest are circumstances affecting the teaching situation in terms of form and content for children in preschool and school, as well as the factors of interplay and interaction between preschool and school.
Teaching interests I am interested in the educational system as a whole—from preschool through higher education. My teaching assignments cover a variety of undergraduate levels, including teacher education and its specializations, the special education programme, single-subject courses, and supervision of students.
