The Vice-Chancellor - Eva Wiberg
Is the head of the University and its foremost representative. The Vice-Chancellor leads the University’s activities and is responsible for implementing decisions taken by the University Board. Eva Wiberg has been Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gothenburg since July 2017. She is a professor of Italian and has previously served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Lund University. Vice-Chancellor Wiberg actively participates in several national and international university networks.

Is the Vice-Chancellor’s deputy, whose assigned appointment follows that of the Vice-Chancellor’s. Mattias Goksör has been Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gothenburg since July 2017. He is a professor of physics and has previously served as head of the Department of Physics.

Mette Sandoff is a professor of business administration and has worked as assistant dean at the School of Business, Economics and Law, and head of the Department of Business Administration. She is chair of the Board of Education, which is a preparatory and advisory body to the Vice-Chancellor with the main mission of developing university-wide principles for education.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, responsible for issues regarding research - Göran Landberg
Göran Landberg is chief physician and professor of pathology at Sahlgrenska Academy and Sahlgrenska University Hospital with research contributions at the Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research. In 2015, he was appointed director of the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine.
