Who is welcome where? Figures of otherness.
Workshop with professor Trinh T. Minh-Ha.

The postcolonial thinker, filmmaker and feminist Trinh T. Minh-ha (trinhminh-ha.com) will hold a workshop in at the University of Gothenburg April 26-27, 2013.

The themes of the workshop are issues such as transnationalism, displacement and translation. The vantagepoint for the participants papers should be their own research in relation to Trinh's book Elsewhere Within Here (2011). A pre-seminar on the book will be planned in April for the workshop group.

The interdisciplinary workshop "Who is welcome where?" is open for approximately 10 researchers and Ph.D. students at the University of Gothenburg who apply gender and postcolonial theories into their work. Workshop applications should be sent to GIG (Gothenburg Interdisciplinary Gender Research Network) together with an abstract of the paper, and a resumé (CV). The workshop will be held in English.

Workshop: Friday April 26, 10 am - 2 pm and Saturday April 27, 10 am - 2 pm.
