Åberg-Bengtsson Lisbeth - IPD
Born: 1947
Thesis: Entering a Graphicate Society: Young Children Learning Graphs and Charts
Lisbeth Åberg-Bengtsson was born in Båraryd and qualified as a primary school teacher in Karlstad. After advanced studies in education with a focus on didactics at the University of Gothenburg she was awarded her PhD in 1998 and appointed to a readership in 2003. Since 2006 she has been professor of education specialising in didactics at the Mid-Sweden University. On 9 December 2008 she was appointed professor of education in the Faculty of Education at the University of Gothenburg.

Thesis: High Precision AC Susceptibility: Exchange Bias and High-Tc Superconductivity
Johan Åkerman was born in Malmö and graduated with the degree of Ingénieur Physicien Diplômé from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland and then later with a master’s degree in engineering physics from the Faculty of Technology at Lund University. He received his PhD in 1998 from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California, San Diego from 1999 to 2001, and then employed to manage research in magnetic computer memories by Motorola in Phoenix. In 2005 he was nominated as research manager of the future by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research. He has been appointed to a special research post by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and since 1 October 2008 has been professor of experimental physics at the Faculty of Science at the University of Gothenburg.
Åkesson Bertil – Faculty of Science, Dept of Zoology (Emeritus) BERTIL ÅKESSON – born in Lund in 1927 – trained in biology at Lund University where he defended his doctor´s thesis in 1958 and was appointed assistant professor in 1958 and research professor in 1966. Appointed research professor at the University of Gothenburg in 1970 and promoted to professor in 1986. Title of thesis: A study of the nervous system of the Sipunculoidae. Current field of research: Reproductive strategies in some marine invertebrates, speciation problems – from genetic variation between populations to subspecies and species levels. He is growing cultures of more than 20 invertebrates that are used in crossbreeding experiments. Some of them are ‘model animals’ that have been sent to many other laboratories to be used in different experiments.
