HEINER ZIMMERMAN Born: 1969 Heiner Zimmermann was born in Reutlingen, Germany, and concluded his training as an art metal smith in 1991 with the Federal Republic of Germany’s Design Prize. He has since received further awards. He has also received training in metal design in Europe and the USA, as well as in restoration, and the history of art and architecture. After passing his master craftsman’s exam in 1998, he took over his father’s Forge. In his works, he tries to combine respect for the material and the blacksmith tradition with creative expression that is both moving and engaging. On 1 January 2010, he was appointed Adjunct Professor in Ornamental Art Metalwork at the School of Design and Crafts
