Yngwe Jan - The Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts JAN YNGWE – born in Kristinehamn in 1953 – has, after studying in Gothenburg, London, Salzburg and Siena, worked nationally and internationally as a composer, choral- and orchestral conductor. He has conducted the Radio Symphony Orchestras, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Göteborg Symphony orchestra and others. Since 1978 he has toured with his own ensemble – the Pro Musica Chamber Choir – throughout Europe, Japan, Cuba, South Africa and Brazil. With the emphasis on late romantic – and contemporary choir music – he has also issued a large number of CD recordings together with his choir. He has been teaching conducting, choir-singing and orchestra playing at the Academy of Music and Drama at Göteborg University since 1977. Appointed from 1 November 2006 as professor in ensembles and leading an ensemble.
