Wang Zhong-Ming - The School of Business, Economics and Law - ZHONG-MING WANG Born: 1949 Thesis: Person-Computer Interface Characteristics and Decision Making Strategy
Zhong-Ming Wang was born in Hangzhou, China in 1949. He studied applied psychology at Hangzhou University and social science at the University of Gothenburg. He obtained his PhD in industrial psychology at Hangzhou University in 1987 in a cooperation programme with the University of Gothenburg. In 1990 he was Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at the Old Dominion University, USA. From 1994 to 1998 he was a visiting professor at the Cranfield School of Management, UK and from 2004 to 2007 was a visiting professor at Lund University. He is also a visiting professor at the China-Europe International Business School, the University of Reading, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Babson College and the EM Lyon Business School. His posts include Directors of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center, the Center for Human Resources and Strategic Development at Zhejiang University and the China-Sweden Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Zhejiang University. He is currently a professor in human resource management and entrepreneurship at the School of Management, Zhejiang University, China. Since 2009 he has been Visiting Professor of Management at the Graduate School. He is the executive board member of the International Association of Applied Psychology, the president of Zhejiang Behevioural Science Society and the president of Industrial Psychology Division of Chinese Psychological Society.

Welander-Berggren Elsebeth - Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, School of Design and Crafts ELSEBETH WELANDER-BERGGREN – born in Copenhagen in 1945 – earned her Bachelor’s degree in art history and ethnology at Stockholm University. She has lectured, written books and articles and curated exhibitions on applied art and design since 1975 both in Sweden and abroad. 1970–1994 she held various posts among which was leading expert at AB Stockholms Auktionsverk, 1995-1997 and 1999–2000 visiting curator at the Nationalmuseum, 2000–2006 director of the Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg and from autumn 2006 director of Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde, Stockholm. She is a member of the Royal Society of Sciences and Arts in Gothenburg. Appointed from 1 July 2006 as adjunct professor in applied art with the emphasis on material cultures and market structures.

Wenneberg Bengt - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Dept of Stomatognathic Physiology BENGT WENNEBERG – born in Västerås in 1951 – earned his dental degree in 1976 at the University of Gothenburg. He defended his thesis in 1983 at the University of Gothenburg in Inflammatory involvement of the temporomandibular joint. Diagnostic and therapeutic aspects and a study of individuals with ankylosing spondylitis. He became senior lecturer and senior dental surgeon in stomatognathic physiology at the University of Gothenburg in 1991 and specialist in temporomandibular disorders in 1993. Since 1996 he has been Head of the Department of Stomatognathic Physiology at the Institute of Odontology and Director of the specialist clinic for orofacial pain at The National Dental Service in Gothenburg. Appointed from 1 April 2006 as professor in stomatognathic physiology. The position is combined with the post of senior dental surgeon at The National Dental Service in othenburg.

Dept of Economics and Statistics - JOAKIM WESTERLUND Born: 1977 Thesis: Essays on Panel Cointegration Joakim Westerlund was born in Lidköping and in 2001 obtained a Master's degree in Economics at Karlstad University. He obtained his PhD in 2005 at the School of Economics and Management at Lund University, and in 2007 he was promoted to Associate Professor at the same institution. Since the 1st of April 2009 he has been Professor of Econometrics at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the Department of Economics.

Wick Mary Jo - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Avd för mikrobiologi och immunologi Institute for Biomedicine, Department of Microbiology and Immunology and The Mucosal Immunobiology and Vaccine Center (MIVAC) MARY JO WICK - born in Minnesota, USA in 1963. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Bacteriology and Public Health in 1985 from Washington State University and her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester Medical School, NY in 1990. The title of Mary Jo's thesis was "Structure, Function and Regulation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Exotoxin A". Mary Jo performed postdoctoral studies 1990-1993 at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis examining processing and presentation of bacterial antigens by macrophages. In 1993, Mary Jo took a position as Assistant Professor at Lund University, Sweden and began studying bacterial interactions dendritic cells. She became Associate Professor in 1997. In 2001 Mary Jo took a position as University Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg and became Professor in Clinical Experimental Immunology from 1 February 2003. She continues to work on the immune response to bacterial pathogens, particularly the innate immune response, with emphasis on the role of dendritic cells during infection.

Winkvist Anna - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Institute of Medicine, Dept of Clinical Nutrition ANNA WINKVIST was born in Lerum in 1962. After undergraduate studies at the Universities of Gothenburg as well as Stockholm she earned her Bachelors Degree in Nutrition in 1985. A Fuhlbright Scholarship brought her to Cornell University, USA, where she completed her PhD in International Nutrition in 1992. The title of her dissertation was: Maternal Depletion in Pakistani and Guatemalan Women. During 1992-1993 she carried out research as a post-doc at the King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. In 1993 she joined the Department of Epidemiology at Umeå University, where she was appointed Docent in Public Health in 1998 and Professor in Epidemiology in 2002. Between 1994-2004 she was in charge of a collaboration in research and teaching in public health between Umeå University and Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. She became appointed Professor in Nutrition at the University of Gothenburg in September 2004 and heads the Department of Clinical Nutrition. Her research focuses on the role of nutrition in the development of chronic diseases from the perspective of nutritional epidemiology.

Wohlgemuth Lennart - Faculty of Social Science, School of Global Studies LENNART WOHLGEMUTH – born in Stockholm in 1940 – earned his degree in Business Administration at the Stockholm School of Economics. He has been active within SIDA, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, UNDP and the IMF for many years. He was director of the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala (a research and documentation centre for Nordic research on Africa) 1993–2005. He was been engaged in issues concerning Africa throughout his life, and has lived in various countries in the continent. His research interests and publications concern development issues and Africa (aid, civil society, knowledge development, education, human rights and conflicts). Appointed from 1 March 2006 to 29 February 2008 as visiting professor in African studies with the emphasis on Swedish and European aid policies.

Wold Agnes, Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Institute of Biomedicine. Professor/chief physician since February 1st, 2008.
Title of dissertation: Studies on bacterial adherence and local immunity in the gut
Agnes Wold was born in Uppsala in 1955. A degree of Bachelor of Arts was conferred on her in Gothenburg in 1981, and she got her doctorate in Clinical Immunology in 1989. She did her postdoctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 1991 and 1992 and became a docent in 1993. She became a qualified doctor in 1995, a specialist in Clinical Immunology in 1999 and a specialist in Clinical Bacteriology in 2005. On 1 February 2008 she was appointed Professor of Clinical Bacteriology with Special Emphasis on Normal Flora at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. The position is linked to the position of Chief Physician at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Title of dissertation: Development of Small-scale Intermodal Transportation in a Systems Context
Johan Woxenius was born in Gothenburg in 1967 and grew up in Karlskrona. He studied for a degree of Master of Science in Engineering with Special Emphasis on Industrial Economics at Chalmers University of Technology, where he got his doctorate in 1998. He was appointed a Docent in Logistics in 2006. Between 2005 and 2007 he was Guest Professor at Blekinge Institute of Technology. On 1 February he was appoined Professor of Business Administration with Special Emphasis on Maritime Transport Management and Logistics at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.
Wulff Angela - The Faculty of Science - ANGELA WULFF Born: 1963 Title of thesis: Microbenthic communities in a changing light environment with emphasis on UVB radiation. Angela Wulff was born in Gothenburg. After obtaining her teaching qualification in physical education and biology, she worked as a teacher in the first to nine grades of compulsory school before devoting herself to her studies in marine biology. She obtained her doctorate in marine botany in 1999 and became an associate professor in 2003. She was appointed Professor of Marine Biology, focusing on marine botany, at the Department of Marine Ecology on 1 August 2009.
Wängberg Sten-Åke - The Faculty of Science - Sten-Åke Wängberg was born in Mariestad and graduated from the University of Gothenburg in biology in 1981. He obtained his doctorate in plant physiology in 1989 with a thesis on the ecotoxicological effects of arsenic on microalgal communities. He became an associate professor in 1995 and senior lecturer in 2002. His research focuses on how chemical and physical factors influence the function of algal communities. He was appointed Professor of Botanical Ecophysiology at the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences on 12 October 2009.
